I am using a Macbook Pro from 2010 with an after market SSD. Everything worked great until I updated to OSX Yosemite 10.10.4. After a reboot my Macbook Pro only showed this sign:
After some digging it turned out Apple implemented TRIM support for after market SSD’s. I have always used Trim Enabler which worked great. Now with the 10.10.4 upgrade something made my Macbook not booting anymore.
I tried a few things to solve this issue:
- Reset PRAM (alt + cmd + P + R)
- Boot into restore (cmd + R) and checked disk for errors (none found)
- Restored my latest 10.10.3 backup (no luck)
- Reinstalled OSX (did not erase my files or applications)
The latest option took almost two hours, but after this I was able to use my Macbook again with 10.10.4
